My art is a channel into contemplating and engaging the objects, spaces, and experiences of my memories, then transforming them into an indirect self-portrait or diary. It reflects how I see choose to portray myself to the world. This has influenced me to use materials such as clay and fiber in their raw state, as well as more refined, to create sculptures.
The thing that attracts me the most about these two materials are its ability to be versatile but also help me reach this imperfect, pretty aesthetic that I am attracted to in order to capture these frozen moments.
Aside from aesthetic reasons, I find these materials reflect my personality or life very much. Both requiring this routine or process to become something but also allowing the ability to interrupt this process and just be.
