Skills

Ceramics: 

Forming: Knowledge in the formulation of clay and glaze, with the ability to execute these practices. Comprehension of advanced mold-making techniques, including crack molds, multi-piece molds, and slip-casting techniques. Knowledge of the potter’s wheel and plaster wheel; fabricating tiles using press molds; construction through solid building and hollow building; experience with the sand blaster. 

Firing: Experience firing gas and electric kilns such as blauuw, skutt, and cone art kilns

Finishing Materials: underglaze, terra sigillata, low, mid and high temperature glazes, transfer decals, china paint, luster 

Glass:

Experience in kiln-formed glass. Knowledge using powdered frits and sheet glass. Experience 

in cutting, casting, and molding glass.

Digital: 

Skilled in digital technology including: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite, Rhinoceros. Experience using 3D printing technology and CNC mill machines.

Painting/Drawing: 

Life drawing skills with charcoal and graphite. Knowledge of material processes with pen and ink, acrylic and watercolor paints.

Sculpture: 

Experience in Oxy Acetylene welding and Tig welding. Knowledge in the process of wax sculpting and creating aluminum and brass castings. Experience with grinding, bending, and cutting metal. Skilled in handling power tools such as hand drills, circular and band saws, and belt sanders.
